Samay Raina is an Indian stand-up comedian, YouTuber, and chess enthusiast. Co-winner of Comicstaan Season 2, he gained popularity during the pandemic by streaming chess with comedians and masters. Through his YouTube channel, he raised significant funds for causes like flood relief and support for waste pickers.
Raina began performing at open mics in August 2017 and quickly gained recognition, opening for prominent comedians like Anirban Dasgupta and Abhishek Upmanyu in Pune. As his career took off, he moved to Mumbai to focus on stand-up comedy, performing in cities across India. In 2019, Raina joined *Comicstaan* Season 2, following a recommendation from fellow comic Aakash Gupta. Both Raina and Aakash Gupta were declared joint winners of the season, which aired on Amazon Prime Video. His success on the show further cemented his place in India's comedy scene.
